Harapan Baru is one of the sub-districts in Loa Janan Ilir sub-district, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan Province, Indonesia.
Previously, this sub-district was a village that was included in the administrative area of Sungai Keledang sub-district. In 1998, Harapan Baru village was designated as a sub-district as a division of the Sungai Keledang sub-district. Harapan Baru is in a strategic position because it is in the middle of the Samarinda Seberang area and is a crossing on the Samarinda-Balikpapan road. Harapan Baru is located on three main roads, namely Jalan Cipto Mangunkusumo (national road), Jalan HAMM Rifadin (provincial road), and Jalan Kurnia Makmur (collector road) so that Harapan Baru is one of the rapidly developing areas in Samarinda City.
